April Post from Washington DC

MARCH - Just made a very short two-week trip to three countries in Africa with friends, to me it felt like a weekend excursion, definitely not my preference. Could easily have stayed for a few years! We flew from very cold Amsterdam, to the Accra, Ghana, and landed at night. I was holding myself in check, really not believing that I was back in Africa. But, as I walked off the plane into that hot thick air (no jet-way) it was all good! I still remained subdued anticipating our planned departure in just 13 days, back to the U.S. But, inside I was so happy and grateful to God to be back in West Africa again. It had been almost two years, since I flew out of Ghana, after spending about 6 weeks in Liberia on the Anastasis. Then we made the final sail to Ghana....

26 APRIL - The Anastasis has been retired - scraped in India following many tears, much sadness, departures by countless precious, dedicated servants of God, and the birthing of a new ship. She is called the Africa Mercy! Now serving in Liberia! It is a new era - a new season - a new flavor of ministry! The majority of old crew members have been scattered by the Lord to various parts of the world. Still impact lives and making a difference on the planet. We are all still sharing the stories - loving the dream were so privileged to have lived.
