April Post from Washington DC

MARCH - Just made a very short two-week trip to three countries in Africa with friends, to me it felt like a weekend excursion, definitely not my preference. Could easily have stayed for a few years! We flew from very cold Amsterdam, to the Accra, Ghana, and landed at night. I was holding myself in check, really not believing that I was back in Africa. But, as I walked off the plane into that hot thick air (no jet-way) it was all good! I still remained subdued anticipating our planned departure in just 13 days, back to the U.S. But, inside I was so happy and grateful to God to be back in West Africa again. It had been almost two years, since I flew out of Ghana, after spending about 6 weeks in Liberia on the Anastasis. Then we made the final sail to Ghana....

26 APRIL - The Anastasis has been retired - scraped in India following many tears, much sadness, departures by countless precious, dedicated servants of God, and the birthing of a new ship. She is called the Africa Mercy! Now serving in Liberia! It is a new era - a new season - a new flavor of ministry! The majority of old crew members have been scattered by the Lord to various parts of the world. Still impact lives and making a difference on the planet. We are all still sharing the stories - loving the dream were so privileged to have lived.

My Life In Washington, DC

Presently I am in Washington DC, living and working on Capitol Hill, getting acquainted with the US governmental system, doing what I do best and that is 'make new relationships' or develop others, support the start of a new ministry, while living in a day to day existence being ready to move spontaneously.

Like many other times in my life, I have walked into something God is doing which is far bigger than me. Could not have planned it - didn't know I needed to be here or had something to give - or that God wanted me here. This is probably the last place would have guessed God would call me. Could be a short stay or long..........

I am flying home to Seattle for a family/friend Thanksgiving and birthday celebration for my niece Amber and nephew Ryland. Should be fun, both Ryland and Amber were born on Thanksgiving Day 28 years ago. Then I expect to return, by the grace of God, to DC until Christmas. End of plans - pray I hear God and only do what He desires for me to do!
